Born Feb. 25, 1985, in Honolulu, Hawaii • parents are Blackie Higashi and Gail Izumi • only child who intends to major in kinesiology with thoughts of going into physical therapy after graduation • also considered attending Brigham Young and Iowa State before selecting Cal State Fullerton.

CLUB CAREER
A four-time Level 10 Junior Olympic National Qualifier • placed tied for fifth on the floor in 2003 and finished ninth in the all-around in 2000 • was the floor exercise champion at the 2000 Region 2 Championships • won the vault and all-around titles at the Hawaii State Championships in 2000 and 2003 • also won state titles on the beam (2002) and floor exercise (2000).
